Pubs in Northumberland are plentiful with many pubs having excellent food and traditional beers brewed from within Northumberland itself. Many pubs are positioned close to tourist attractions and are therefore a perfect stop off point either for lunch or for an evening meal.

The Three Wheat Heads is a lovely 300 year old Inn located in Thropton, some 2 miles from Alnwick. Here one can enjoy fine foods, a good beer garden and it offers accommodation as well. The Inn overlooks the Simonside Hills and many tourist attractions can be reached within a short drive including beaches, Craigside, Alnwick Castle and Gardens.

There are some pubs in Northumberland where you can savour all types of local produce including meats, poultry, sea food, cheese and locally grown vegetables. There is a huge range of local ales all of which are worth sampling.

The Black Bull in Corbridge is a popular stopping off point for the many visitors who travel up to nearby Hadrian's Wall. The Black Bull has a good reputation for food where people come from far and wide to sample the excellent homemade meals.
