Well Close and its cottage is situated on the east end of the village, 2 minutes from the shops and the river walks. There are many attractive walks straight from The Cottage along the river and up into the heathered hills. The National Trust property of Cragside is within walking distance, and the National Park and coast are a short drive away.
The Cottage sits behind the House, within the 2 acre walled garden, looking west to the large play lawn, and the ‘sitting-under oaks’ with garden furniture. There is a wood, maze, medicine wheel, leys, wild areas, pond and car park. Visitors are welcome to use these facilities.
Inside, the wood lined cottage, consists of a porch leading into the sitting / dining room, to the right a small well equipped kitchen and a bathroom / toilet with shower. To the left of the sitting room the double bedroom leads through to the twin bedded room.
The area, Rothbury is at the centre of quiet, good roads within an area full of interest and fascinating places. Locally enjoy varied superb scenery, lovely hill and riverside walks, castles, Roman and ancient sites, nature reserves, golf, tennis, bowls, riding, mountain bike hire, several National Trust establishments and the Northumberand National Park. With short drives you can enjoy the coast and sandy beaches, the Scottish Borders, the Roman Wall, Tyneside, Alnwick.
