Food and Drink in Northumberland
Food and drink in Northumberland is a gastronomer's delight with Northumberland producing both food products and locally made drink.
The big outdoors has been behind so much produce originating from Northumberland. The Berwick Shellfish Company, for example, supplies live shellfish throughout the UK and mainland Europe with crab and lobster being a speciality.

Dairy products, most notably cheese and ice cream, are made on site at the Doddington Dairy at the bottom of the Cheviot Hills in the Glendale Valley. Various types of cheese are produced including Doddington and Cuddy's Cave as well a range of different flavoured ice creams. There is unfortunately, no shop at the Dairy but stockists can be found throughout the County.
The famous Lindisfarne Mead is made exclusively on Holy Island in a winery. It is a fortified alcholic wine made principally from grape juice, honey, herbs and pure natural water. There is a winery showroom on site and which is open to all members of the public.
Food and drink in Northumberland is plentiful and within this article it is not possible to list all the excellent producers.
