Description

Welcome to Brunton House!

Lying nine miles north of Alnwick in quiet seclusion between the Cheviot Hills and the glorious golden sands of the Northumbrian coastline, Brunton is a large Victorian house. Set in extensive sheltered gardens, it is backed by woods and a stream with long views over open fields to the front and a glimpse of the sea.

Marvellous walks, castles and gardens, as well as golf, fishing, superb birdwatching and riding are all available nearby.

Brunton House has 3 rooms all of which are spacious and have large beds, cotton sheets, and a varied selection of books – guides spiritual, horticultural and ornithological, to novels, local and national history, not to mention AGA-drama, Agamemnon and Asterix.

The views to the front stretch out over the neighbouring fields where hares and deer can often be seen, while at the back, the house is sheltered by a backdrop of mature trees.

Bedrooms are spacious with either a shower or a bath en-suite.

Hot water bottles on request in winter.

For those in a wheelchair, Brunton House also has a ground floor bedroom which is fully equipped with a hoist to help guests into bed. The brand new bathroom (wetroom) has a wheel-in shower.

Access from the front door through the house is level and easy while guests can get to the dining room and sitting room on the ground floor without difficulty.

Parking is level and close by the front door while the large garden also has no steps and is fully accessible for wheelchairs.

Although dinner is not offered at Brunton House on a regular basis, it can occasionally be done so by arrangement. Fresh vegetables are from our garden and otherwise we source the finest local produce available.Vegetarians also catered for. Home-baked bread is a speciality of the house.

5 days advance notice is required in order to provide you with dinner. Please contact Brunton House beforehand.

Brunton House shall be running a variety of courses starting soon with upholstery, cookery, yoga, meditation and bridge weekends.

All the courses will be taught at the house in small groups (7-8 max) by expert and thoughtful instructors at competitive rates. The content of each course will be tailored to the requirements of each group as far as is possible. Full board is included in the price.
